This is a non-supervisory position in the Analytical Development Laboratory responsible for maintaining laboratory operations. The incumbent will utilize their technical expertise, organizational skills and initiative to maintain day-to-day laboratory functions.

The Laboratory Technician has the following responsibilities:

• Working with staff scientists, maintain lab consumables (solvents, reagents, etc.), inventory and column (U/HPLC, GC, IC) check-in, disposal and databases.

• Responsible for sample archival, sample tracking and chemical inventory in the laboratory.

• Maintains laboratory equipment list and software inventory.

• Prepare chemical solutions and reagents in coordination with laboratory staff.

• Working with USP Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), oversee laboratory waste management and disposal.

• Coordinate with internal USP personnel (CLO) and be a lab point of contact for instrument maintenance scheduling, repair, new instrument installation and documentation.

• Coordinate with USP Facilities on any work impacting the laboratory and provide timely communication to staff scientists.

• Participates in laboratory maintenance (clean-ups), safety walk-throughs and assists with keeping the laboratory “audit-ready”.
