Brief Job OverviewThis is a non-supervisory position in the Analytical Development Laboratory responsible for maintaining laboratory operations. The incumbent will utilize their technical expertise, organizational skills and initiative to maintain day-to-day laboratory functions.

The Laboratory Technician has the following responsibilities:
Working with staff scientists, maintain lab consumables (solvents, reagents, etc.), inventory and column (U/HPLC, GC, IC) check-in, disposal and databases.
Responsible for sample archival, sample tracking and chemical inventory in the laboratory.
Maintains laboratory equipment list and software inventory.
Prepare chemical solutions and reagents in coordination with laboratory staff.
Working with USP Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), oversee laboratory waste management and disposal.
Coordinate with internal USP personnel (CLO) and be a lab point of contact for instrument maintenance scheduling, repair, new instrument installation and documentation.
Coordinate with USP Facilities on any work impacting the laboratory and provide timely communication to staff scientists.
Participates in laboratory maintenance (clean-ups), safety walk-throughs and assists with keeping the laboratory “audit-ready”.
