Overview
Business Banking Team Lead - Retail Admin Total Bank
Location:
Hybrid position;
California, MD;
Towson Lending Office, Towson, MD or Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. Market:
Mid-Atlantic. Work Hours per Week: 40.
- Provide leadership in business banking and coordinate activities with market/region leadership and other lines of business for the assigned region.
- Drive employee engagement by fostering a positive work environment and recognizing exceptional performance.
- Establish and maintain market business relationships with branch personnel and expand small business relationships through joint efforts with staff.
- Act as a trusted advocate for small businesses; understand depository, lending, and digital banking needs to support growth; manage borrowing and depository relationships for small business clients.
- Grow the book of business through advanced cash flow conversations while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Develop community and business relationships to facilitate sales referrals and stay informed on local business conditions to support bank growth and CRA initiatives.
- Serve as Digital Banking Champion for Business Clients and Prospects to drive adoption of digital tools and treasury management services.
- Support the bank’s sales culture; originate, develop, and maintain relationships with business customers via direct calls and referrals.
- Foster partnerships and referrals across branches; coach branch management on Business Banking opportunities and related products.
- Maintain and manage individual business portfolios, including financial/documentation management and, when needed, collaboration with centralized collections.
- Collaborate with Commercial Banking, Private Banking and other lines of business to meet customer needs; refer relationships to partners when appropriate.
- Train and develop Retail and Branch banking small business personnel to encourage referrals; cultivate non-traditional partners to meet goals.
- Gather financial information for complete loan applications; coordinate with Business Banking Support to obtain credit approval/denial and manage closing documentation.
- Work with Special Asset Unit and Commercial Collections on past-due loans and workouts, as needed.
- Analyze financial statements to support needs of existing and potential customers; perform sufficient credit analysis for proposed transactions and credit approvals.
- Collaborate with Credit Analysts to manage credit analysis and decision submission; deliver credit decisions promptly and negotiate with clients when needed.
- Provide loan structures to meet client needs and ensure documentation protects the bank.
- Participate in community and civic organizations to build a portfolio of Centers of Influence for new opportunities.
- Follow up on internal and external referrals; support internal units with high-quality referrals through community and business relationships.
- Adopt a strong risk management culture by understanding client behaviors and relationships to mitigate losses.
- Assist with coordination of CRA lending initiatives within the corporate lending department.
- Manage and develop the business banking team, providing growth opportunities and leading by example; recruit and hire additional Business Bankers.
- Oversee performance evaluations in collaboration with Senior Management; handle other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum of four years of sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of five years of small business banking experience required.
- Minimum of two years of leadership experience required.
- Banking is a regulated industry; you will be expected to acquire and maintain proficiency in the Bank’s policies and procedures and complete compliance training timely.
- Direct supervision responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, directing work, appraising performance, and addressing concerns in accordance with policies and laws.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn commercial loan origination software; ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze problems, collect data, draw conclusions and solve problems; strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Travel:
Majority of weekly travel within market and assigned branches; occasional travel within Wes Banco footprint.
- Wage range: $115,000 - $150,000 annually; eligible for incentives.
