Job Description
We are seeking detail-oriented and analytical Senior Transportation Engineers to join our team in Rockville, MD/the DMV area. In this role, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of transportation systems that improve mobility, enhance safety, and promote sustainability within our communities. The location will be determined based on site/client office location per opportunity.
- Design and develop transportation infrastructure, including roadways, intersections, and traffic control systems
- Utilize traffic simulation and modeling software to evaluate transportation scenarios
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation solutions into broader urban development projects
- Prepare engineering plans, technical specifications, reports, and project documentation
- Develop and implement traffic management and safety strategies to reduce congestion
- Engage with stakeholders and participate in client meetings to present and discuss transportation plans
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful delivery
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers
- Contribute to proposal development and ensure technical solutions meet client and industry standards
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in roadway and transportation engineering design
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering, planning, traffic flow analysis, and safety principles
- Proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD and/or Micro Station
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, and other data analysis tools
- Knowledge of basic traffic engineering and transportation planning principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and client interaction
- PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer) certification preferred
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
Proposed Salary: The salary range varies based on the scope of work, project location, and level of experience, and may fall between $130,000-$185,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
