Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Control Board (SECB) and Response Coordinator to support our work on the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) contract. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with proven change control and document coordination experience, who can quickly learn new technologies and work collaboratively with people at all levels and positions in a team environment.
The SECB and Response Coordinator is responsible for using review and change management systems to manage, curate, and control official systems engineering artifacts. This role ensures that all artifacts-e.g., engineering drawings, specifications, change notices, deliverables, and quality records-go through the proper review and approval workflows to maintain data integrity, compliance, and traceability across the organization. This position also coordinates all program-wide responses to customer review and input requests (e.g., impact assessments).
Additional responsibilities of this position include:
* Ensure Compliance :
Audit artifact content for compliance with company and customer standards, industry and military regulations, and established policies.
* CM and Version Control :
Apply configuration management and version control principles, ensure that artifact changes align with product baselines and guidelines, prevent the use of obsolete formats and templates.
* User Support and Training :
Provide training and limited technical support to end-users on artifact control tools, review procedures, and best practices.
* Reports and Audits :
Generate artifact-related reports for management review, and provide essential documentation and data in response to internal and external audits. Conduct regular audits of artifacts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards and regulations.
About BAE Systems and the U.S. Navy's (USN) Strategic Systems Programs (SSP)
Our organization has supported the USN's SSP continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapons System (SWS), a defense system that is critical to our national security. SSP has maintained and upgraded the sea-based SWS for more than six decades, and we have been there every step of the way: it is the ultimate stealthy weapons system, and is the sea-based leg of the U.S. nuclear triad.
Containing over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal, its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. Development of the Columbia class submarine-the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed-and the D5LE2 missile system is underway, and rollout will begin within the next decade. The USN projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years.
This is a truly unique program, and the BAE Systems employees who support it understand that they're part of an important legacy. As a decades-long sole-source partner on multiple contracts on behalf of our customer, our program has remarkable stability and is concurrently experiencing significant growth. These factors combine to provide ample opportunity for professional growth and development for capable and talented individuals on our team.
BAE Systems, Inc. is a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, which provides some of the world's most advanced, technology-led defense, aerospace, and security solutions. As one of the top ten defense contractors, we employ a skilled workforce of around 100,000 people in more than 40 countries. We develop, engineer, manufacture, and support products and systems to protect national security and keep people safe.
