Position: Staff Propulsion Technician

Where You'll Make an Impact

We’re seeking a Staff Propulsion Technician to support the assembly and testing of innovative propulsion systems in Rockville, MD. You’ll work hands‑on with groundbreaking technologies that will fly on unique, high‑profile missions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform propulsion and other spacecraft system and component assembly and testing activities.
  • Partner with propulsion engineers to ensure designs are buildable and testable.
What It Takes
  • Have 3+ years of experience in spacecraft assembly or similar experience, including automotive, chemical, nuclear, and aerospace jobs that require similar skillsets.
  • Experience with orbital welding.
  • Use of JIC/AN, Swagelok, KC, and similar fittings.
  • High‑pressure operations experience.
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals such as propellants.
  • Experience in polymeric bonding.
  • Experience in cleanroom operations.
  • Experience with digital multimeters.
  • Skilled in mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively in high‑stress situations.
  • Willingness to relocate within commuting distance of Rockville, MD.
  • Willingness to learn orbital welding, polymeric bonding, crane and manlift operation, high‑pressure operations, and propellant loading.
  • Ability to work occasional swing and night shifts for short periods of time (usually less than a week).
Nice‑to‑Have Experience
  • 1+ year of experience in propulsion system assembly and test.
  • Experience operating cranes and manlifts.
  • Experience in a machine shop running CNC machining.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Experience with propellant loading operations in a Self‑Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCOPE).
  • Experience in harness fabrication and flight electrical mate/dem.
  • Current, relevant technical certifications.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
