Teacher - 90 hour (Preschool)
The Extended Day Program is to support the students who stay beyond the end of the Montessori day. Our goal is to provide a healthy environment that allows for nourishment, rest, play, social interaction and study as appropriate. These activities are to be consistent with the principles of Montessori philosophy.
Qualifications- Must have High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
- Minimum one-year related experience, preferred.
- 90-hour Preschool Teacher Training:
- 45 hours Child Growth and Development.
- 45 hours Preschool Methods and Materials.
- 9-hour Communication class.
- 3-hour Americans with Disabilities Act training.
- Desire to further the understanding and practice of Montessori philosophy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Evidence of continuing education and professional growth to include meeting all necessary requirements as established by state law and regulatory agencies.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Within first 30 days of employment must be able to meet all necessary requirements as established by state law and regulatory agencies.
- Plans and presents individual, small group, and whole group lessons.
- Implements a program of planned activities that demonstrate a balance of quiet and active activities from a wide variety of developmentally appropriate curricular areas.
- Ensure the safety of students through constant supervision and a prepared environment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
- Oversee and direct a Classroom Assistant.
- Models and implements positive classroom leadership and administration.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships and communication with students and parents.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in working with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Required attendance and participation in all staff meetings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Must be able to stand, bend, lift and work in an outdoor playground environment for extended periods of time while supervising children.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
