Annual Expected Pay Range: $100,000 – $130,000 (USD)
Apex is seeking a Financial Business Analyst to support the development, governance, and continuous improvement of the enterprise pricing model and growth strategy. Reporting to the Director of Finance and partnering closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and Director of Commercial Operations (DOCO), this role provides analytical support for pricing decisions, deal evaluations, margin optimization, and commercial performance.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their commercial and financial expertise within a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities Pricing Model Delivery & GovernanceSupport maintenance and updates of pricing databases, assumptions, and driver tables to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Analyze pricing data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Organize and structure data to enable win-theme analysis, predictive pricing, and model enhancements.
Support pricing strategy rollout through margin summaries, variance analysis, and pricing reports.
Expand pricing tools to incorporate all Apex sub-practice areas.
Track non-standard pricing requests and maintain records of approvals and deal outcomes.
Monitor adherence to pricing guardrails and flag deviations for escalation.
Assist with onboarding newly acquired businesses and service lines into the enterprise pricing model.
Build and maintain dashboards and reports tracking pricing performance, discounting behavior, deal quality, and margin attainment.
Prepare recurring pricing KPI reports for Sales, Finance, PMO, Regional, and Executive Leadership teams.
Conduct ad hoc analyses to support pricing strategy updates and margin improvement initiatives.
Model the financial impact of pricing changes on win rates, revenue, and profitability.
Interpret results and prepare clear, executive-ready insights and summaries.
Provide analytical support to Sales and Operations during proposal development.
Research competitive benchmarks and market pricing trends.
Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing governance and commercial operations processes.
Document best practices and maintain a centralized pricing resource library.
Partner with Operations to ensure accurate project data flows into pricing and profitability reporting.
Collaborate with IT and Analytics teams to enhance data automation, dashboarding, and development of a web-based pricing tool.
Support the Director of PMO with data analysis for project reviews, monitoring, and execution insights.
Support the DOCO with pricing strategy development and performance modeling.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
Strategic Pricing & Business Acumen: Understanding of pricing’s impact on organizational strategy and financial performance.
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and consistency across multiple systems and datasets.
Collaboration: Effectively partners with Sales, Finance, Operations, and leadership teams.
Curiosity & Growth Mindset: Actively seeks to understand Apex’s strategy and build commercial expertise.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field required.
5+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or business analytics.
Experience in professional services or project-based industries required (AEC experience preferred).
Advanced Excel proficiency required.
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, DOMO, or similar preferred.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to clearly communicate insights and support decision-making through data-driven analysis.
Strong preference for candidates able to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
