Accounts Payable Associate (New Accounting Graduates Welcome)
Location: Rockville, MD
Starting Salary: $60,000
Type: Full-Time
Are you a recent accounting graduate looking to get your foot in the door with one of the area's oldest and most well-established commercial real estate firms? Our client has been in business for over 70 years and offers a stable, team-oriented environment with excellent growth potential.
The Finance Department consists of approximately 70 staff members, with a dedicated Accounts Payable team of five. This opening is due to an upcoming retirement, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage Accounts Payable email inbox
- Work with vendors to ensure compliance and resolve issues
- Audit invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
- Prepare journal entries and maintain receipts
- Process in-house expense reports
- Process background checks
- Prepare quarterly reconciliations for AP and AR exchanges
- Learn and navigate multiple accounting software systems efficiently
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (new graduates encouraged to apply)
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills when working with vendors and internal teams
