The Project Accountant collaborates with Project Managers to assess project performance track change orders, prepare progress billings, and support collection efforts. The Project Accountant reports to and supports the organization’s Controller. The ideal candidate must have excellent time management skills and be self-motivated. Experience with Foundation Software is a plus but not required.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:- Project accounting, job costing, and budget tracking
- Analyze project performance, including cost forecasts and variances
- Prepare and submit monthly progress billings (AIA format)
- Track and reconcile change orders and committed costs
- Apply and record cash receipts accurately
- Prepares lien releases and ensure compliance
- Oversee bond documentation for active projects
- Collaborate with project teams on financial reporting and closeouts
- Support process improvements in accounting systems and workflows
- At least 2 years of Project Accounting within construction is preferred
- Proficiency in Procore, Textura GCPay and Foundation is preferred
- MS Office Suite with a strong focus in Excel
