Accounting Supervisor, General Ledger

Position Summary
The Accounting Supervisor, General Ledger assists with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close accounting processes, including the preparation and review of financial statements and reports for both consolidated and non‑consolidated entities. The role also involves reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations for areas such as cash, leases (ASC 842), fixed assets, and debt.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee monthly cash, lease, and debt accounting; review required journal entries for accuracy.
  • Review and validate monthly account reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies and provide supporting documentation.
  • Supervise the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, analyze statements, and explain variances.
  • Manage and resolve un‑vouchered liabilities; collaborate with purchasing to correct reporting gaps.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set priorities, and provide feedback.
  • Supervise JDE fixed‑asset accounting processes to ensure accurate recording, placement into service, and depreciation in accordance with company policy and US GAAP.
  • Ensure general ledger and fixed‑asset sub‑ledger balance across all entities.
  • Review debt compliance schedules and ensure accuracy and adherence to loan documents.
  • Collaborate with the General Ledger Team to create closing schedules and resolve issues that affect timeliness or reliability of results.
  • Assist with year‑end audit preparation, ad‑hoc reporting, and financial analyses as required.
  • Provide audit information as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum four years of accounting experience; prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with JD Edwards ERP preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals, GAAP, and ability to document and adhere to policies; knowledge of government accounting standards is a plus.
  • In‑depth knowledge of financial ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to gather complex data, evaluate it, and develop recommendations.
  • Proficient in accounting systems and advanced spreadsheets (Excel).
  • Strong leadership and staff‑management skills; ability to set accountabilities and achieve results.
  • Independent worker and effective team member across all organization levels.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time‑management skills to manage multiple, changing priorities.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems and implement cross‑functional solutions.
  • Relationship‑building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform ad‑hoc reporting and other tasks in a demanding environment.
Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to communicate, exchange information, use necessary equipment, and move about the office.

Work Environment

This role is performed in a traditional office environment with a hybrid schedule possible.

Compensation Summary

The annual base salary ranges from $88,100 to $134,400, adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, market factors, and candidate qualifications. Employees may qualify for discretionary or non‑discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary.
