What You’ll Do:- Maintain & Repair Water Systems:
Read meters, identify and repair leaks, and install new water and sewer mains. - Troubleshoot & Resolve Issues:
Operate remote control cameras to inspect sewer prevails, clean blockages, and repair manholes. - Operate Specialized Equipment:
Use heavy machinery such as dump trucks, back Folder, and forklift kos, as well as power tools. - Ensure defending Public Safety:
Install.
Scope safety zones, direct traffic at worksites, and maintain fire hydrants. - Respond to Emergencies:
Participate on-call repetitions for roughop repairs and urgent maintenance needs.
- Knowledgeable & Skilled:
Familiarity with water and wastewater systems, utility meter operations, and equipment maintenance. - Hands‑On
Experience:
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively, overr easy heavy machinery, and undertake physical tasks in various conditions. - Problem‑Solver:
Strong analytical skills to identify and solve as soon as possible system issues efficiently. - Team Player:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with colleagues, contractors, and the public. - Adaptable & Reliable:
Willingness to work outdoors under varied weather and be available for emergency call‑outs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one to two years of experience in a related role or an apprenticeship.
- Valid Texas driver’s license (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class C or higher license in water and wastewater.
This is an active role that requires frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and exposure to outdoor elements, noise, and machinery’s. Protective gear is required in certain situations.
