OVERVIEW
The Sr. Director of US Operations will lead and oversee SMA America’s US operations, focusing on Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Supplier Quality, and integration strategy. The role drives operational excellence, aligns US operations with global strategy, and expands SMA’s US footprint through manufacturing integration and localization.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES- Supply Chain Management: Lead end‑to‑end US supply chain operations, develop strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs, manage procurement to source materials and services, negotiate vendor relationships, and implement best practices.
- Supplier Quality Management: Oversee supplier quality, lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions, and continuously improve supplier evaluation and performance processes.
- Domestic Integration Strategy: Support SMA’s domestic integration strategy, coordinate in‑country manufacturing and local sourcing initiatives, and manage integration of new suppliers and processes.
- Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Identify and drive process improvements, report performance metrics, and collaborate with leadership on productivity and cost‑efficiency solutions.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with sales, service, engineering, and finance to align operations, lead cross‑functional teams, mentor and develop a high‑performing operations team, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in operations leadership, with at least 5 years overseeing supply chain, procurement, and supplier quality in a manufacturing or technology‑driven environment.
- Leadership Profile: Strategic thinking, change ambassador, accountable to outcomes, customer‑centric, proficient in Microsoft Office, and skilled at managing multiple projects. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel may be required.
- Pay Range: $129,000–$167,000 annually, dependent on experience.
