What You’ll DoAs a DSP, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving the highest possible quality of life. You will promote their safety, well‑being, independence, and personal goals while serving as their advocate.
Essential Responsibilities- Follow and support daily routines according to each client’s Individual Program Plan (IPP)
- Participate in developing and supporting IPP/ISP goals
- Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe living environment
- Facilitate social, recreational, and community activities
- Assist with personal care (grooming, toileting, dressing, hygiene)
- Prepare meals and assist with clean‑up
- Transport clients using company vehicles as needed
- Report incidents and communicate daily with administrators
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of personal or professional caregiving experience
- Preferred: experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs
- DSP Certificate (Year 1 &
2) and CPI training- Preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- First Aid/CPR
- Preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Must pass all pre‑employment screenings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
