Position Description Coordinates and develops a schedule of activities with the Youth Sports Operations Coordinator that specifically meet the needs of the participants and the goals of the FIRE Track and Field program to allow for maximum program participation.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establish and maintain a high level of citizen confidence.
  • Constantly discuss and refine team members core values to inspire them to achieve our shared values and shared purpose, vision, and mission.
  • Establish and maintain exceptional relationships with all internal team members and external stakeholders.
  • Create a work atmosphere that is safe, healthy, secure, and is conscious of work-life balance as well as the Park District’s goals.
  • Ensures a welcoming culture that cultivates inclusivity, equity, diversity and belonging for all people and aspects of our organization.
Operational Excellence
  • Under the direct supervision of the Youth Sports Operations Coordinator, initiates and executes track and field programs, makes decisions regarding skill curriculum, practice plans, program evaluation, assessment of participant’s progress for functional age appropriate activities in the area of track and field.
  • Coordinates and develops a schedule of activities with the Youth Sports Operations Coordinator that specifically meet the needs of the participants and the goals of the FIRE Track and Field program to allow for maximum program participation, identifies barriers that hinder a participant’s success, and implements all reasonable accommodations.
  • Implements age and skill appropriate activities to allow for maximum participation to meet the needs of individual participants.
  • Takes initiative to coordinate schedule of activities with multiple site staff.
  • Informs Youth Sports Supervisor of supplies needed.
  • Represents the Park District in a friendly and positive manner when communicating with program participants, parents/guardians, staff, and all other program visitors.
