Maintenance Technician
Impact: Perform ongoing maintenance and repairs to provide excellent member service and maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all. Support all facility branches and handle work of average to considerable difficulty across electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, pool maintenance, and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities- Identify and address building and equipment issues across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC.
- Repair, modify, construct, install, and maintain building structures and equipment such as roofs, floors, HVAC systems.
- Replace or update inoperable building materials and appliances.
- Inspect facility equipment, systems, and vendor work for safety and quality.
- Repair, replace, and install plumbing systems and components.
- Maintain records of work, bids, and material lists using computers and authorized forms.
- Order and stock building supplies, materials, and parts.
- Obtain estimates and quotes for required materials and equipment.
- Notify supervisors and user groups of building conditions and repair schedules.
- Repair, install, and test electrical equipment.
- Preserve structures by painting surfaces to prevent corrosion.
- Recommend building modifications to meet local, state, and federal codes.
- Clear blockages in plumbing to restore drainage.
- Plan and schedule corrective action and preventive maintenance.
- Assess and maintain emergency lighting systems and exits.
- Install, repair, and maintain doors, windows, locks, and closures.
- Respond to emergency repair calls during off‑day hours, including some weekends.
- Apply OSHA guidelines and safety practices.
- Hang, patch, texture, and paint sheetrock and drywall.
- Oversee vendors and contractors to ensure proper work.
- Analyze electrical circuits and install, repair, calibrate, or replace electrical devices and systems.
- Train co‑workers in preventive maintenance and produce reports.
- Perform general maintenance tasks as assigned through Noda Fi.
- Drive YMCA fleet between branches, picking up materials and transporting equipment.
- Operate YMCA vehicles safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.
- Report damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly.
- Perform any other functions necessary for smooth operation.
Position 1:
Camp Winnebago
Part‑time, Non‑Exempt
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Weekends – On‑Call Rotation
$18.00 per hour
Position 2: YMCA Children’s Learning Center and Good Shepherd YMCA
Part‑time, Non‑Exempt
Monday – Friday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Weekends – On‑Call Rotation
$18.00 per hour
- Minimum age of 21.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and clean driving record.
- Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC repair.
- Current Praesidium Academy training.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required within 90 days.
