Inside Sales Representative – Rockford, IL

Richards Building Supply is a family‑owned and operated wholesale building material distributor with over 40 years of successful service across 12 states. We’re looking for a driven Inside Sales Representative to be the backbone of our customer relationships, providing expert guidance and support to contractors and industry professionals in Rockford, IL.

• Stable Full‑time schedule (Monday‑Friday with consistent hours – no unpredictable shifts or weekend work)

• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them find the right products for their projects
• Handle inbound and outbound customer interactions—via phone or in‑person—to ensure every customer feels valued
• Collaborate with outside sales reps to drive sales and resolve customer needs
• Process orders, track inventory, and coordinate product transfers to meet customer demands
• Educate customers on promotions, new products, and industry trends to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain accurate records, process payments, and ensure seamless order fulfillment

• 2–3 years of experience in a customer‑facing role, preferably in sales, retail, or distribution
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; CRM experience a plus)
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
• Industry knowledge is a plus; we’re happy to train motivated candidates
• Spanish‑speaking skills are a strong advantage but not required
• Willingness to travel overnight (up to 10 %)
