Job DescriptionUW Health in northern Illinois seeks an experienced neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) to join our 32-bed Level III NICU team in the Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.
Our Level III NICU is staffed 24/7 by a Neonatologist and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, part of a multidisciplinary team providing excellent and cost-effective care to our smallest patients.
In this autonomous position, you will:
- Participate in rounding to discuss and establish care plans
- Perform invasive procedures within your scope of practice
- Attend high-risk deliveries and transports
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and staff education
Your clinical support includes:
- A team of 6 neonatologists and 6 NNPs
- Access to over a dozen pediatric sub-specialists from UW Health
- MFM collaboration and 24-hour in-house OB hospitalist coverage
- Master’s degree from an accredited advanced practice nurse program
- Active APRN license in Illinois and DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Level 3 or 4 NICU
