Operations Manager, Quality Engineering
We are seeking a Relief Production Supervisor in Northern Illinois. This company has been in business for over 80 years, prides themselves on their strong company culture, and true commitment to promoting from within whenever possible.
This is an opportunity to step into a hands‑on leadership role working across multiple shifts in a highly automated, fast‑paced facility. This role works on a 2-2-3 schedule, so you only work 7 out of every 14 days. When you're not filling in for vacations or absences you'll have the opportunity to work on company projects.
What You'll Lead- Daily production operations, ensuring safety, GMP compliance, and product quality
- Changeovers, line performance, and smooth shift transitions
- Driving OEE, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coaching and developing production employees
- Partnering with Quality, Maintenance, and Safety for peak performance
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Managerial field of expertise (relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
- Minimum of 3 years of Supervisory experience in a related industry. Good overall knowledge of safety, sanitation, manufacturing operations, and quality.
- Team player, ability to work with other employees, departments, and customers on the adequate resolution of issues and the successful completion of projects. Can develop teams as needed to develop the organization.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate basic software programs.
- Well‑developed conflict resolution skills.
- Attention to detail, self‑motivated, good communicator with a high level of integrity. Ability to give and receive praise and areas of improvement.
- Familiarity/willingness and ability to become familiar with LSS tools and fundamentals such as 5
Whys, RCA, CIL, Process Controls, etc. - Ability to work in an environment that values being lean and agile in day‑to‑day operations.
