Scheduler, Manufacturing ​/ Production

This role is a cross functional scheduler, responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising certain products through the production process/cycle. This position also works with all department leads, scheduling, and purchasing to ensure key jobs are kept on track for makes sure all internal and external requirements are met. In addition, this position will increase communication internally and work closely with scheduling and project managers to help guide timely and effective customer communication.

• Identifies jobs that are late or at risk of being late and expedites to ensure on-time completion; adds an expedite priority code to the job so the urgency is visible to the production team
• Identifies any cost savings possibility via materials, machines, or crew members
• Develops a supply balance of jobs between existing and forecasted demand
• Verifies solutions have removed obstacles and parts are moving on time again, investigating and taking action if they are not.
• Assists in continuous process improvements; facilitates problem-solving teams
• Selects procedures and techniques to develop best practices to incorporate into the overall schedule and projects
• Identifies and recommends feasible solutions to plan operational issues
• Assists Plant Manager in product movement throughout all departments
• Tracks production performance, identify bottlenecks, and works with the production team to resolve issues
• Ensures compliance with production standards, quality control, and company policies to meet on-time delivery and/or customer expectations
• Collaborates with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure production goals align with business objectives
• Acts as a point of contact between the production team and other departments
• Demonstrates the Caldwell Values in all work activities
• Complies with and enforces all safety requirements
• Associate’s degree in a manufacturing-related field or equivalent experience preferred
• Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role related to production planning, scheduling, or operations
• Familiarity with job methods and BOMs preferred
• Experience using process improvement concepts, including identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures

• Ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to address issues affecting production schedules and to resolve bottlenecks
• Strong problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and a basic comfort level with technology
