You’re the go-to person for crafting, sharpening, and maintaining tooling that keeps production humming. You enjoy moving from print to precision part, and from troubleshooting to building new fixtures and dies. In our toolroom, you’ll wear many hats—toolmaker, repairer, and production partner.
What you will do- Read part drawings with confidence and use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to make or modify tooling for both new and existing jobs.
- Keep tools sharp and tool holders in top condition prior to restocking; repair components or request replacements to maintain healthy inventory.
- Control toolroom flow—check tools in and out with accurate documentation.
- Set up and operate toolroom machines and lathes to produce form tools, taps, drills, and holders for grinding processes.
- Prepare complete setup kits for any machine as required.
- Preferred background:
Fastener industry heading experience and basic heading maintenance know-how. - Awareness of IATF 16949 quality expectations.
- Clear, calm communication with supervisors, peers, and team members—by phone, email, in writing, and face-to-face.
- Organized multitasker who prioritizes well and executes with minimal errors.
- Deductive thinker—able to apply general standards to specific tooling or process challenges.
- Capable of adjusting machines to control speeds, pressures, temperatures, dimensions, material flow, and amounts.
- Consistent adherence to OSHA and company safety rules.
- Onsite only (one location).
- Role requires standing and movement for most of an 8–10-hour shift.
- Lift up to 40 lbs; PPE required in designated areas.
