In a high-growth Fin Tech ecosystem, the bottleneck to scale isn't just the code—it’s the operational maturity of the teams writing it.
Our Client is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to serve as a technical catalyst. This isn't a "ticket-taker" role; it is a high-impact consultative mandate to embed with engineering teams and institutionalize the gold standards of observability, releasability, and security.

This is a role for a "force multiplier"—someone who derives more satisfaction from teaching a team to build a resilient CI/CD pipeline than from building one in isolation.

• The "Embed" Model: Lead time-boxed (6–12 week) engagements with stream-aligned teams to modernize their Dev Ops capabilities.
• Observability Enablement: Coach developers on instrumentation (Open Telemetry/Serilog), defining meaningful SLOs/SLIs, and building dashboards that actually reduce MTTR.
• Releasability Excellence: Guide the transition to trunk-based development and progressive delivery (Canary/Feature Flags) using Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, and Octopus Deploy

• Dev Sec Ops  Integration: Institutionalize security by default—teaching teams to automate SAST/DAST scanning and perform proactive threat modeling.
• Measure What Matters: Track and improve DORA metrics and security postures, ensuring teams become truly self-sufficient.

• The Consultant Mindset: 3+ years in SRE, Dev Ops, or Platform Engineering with the ability to influence technical teams without direct authority.
• The Tooling Specialist: Solid hands-on expertise in Octopus Deploy and Terraform (IaC) is required.
• The Architect of Delivery: Strong understanding of CI/CD orchestration and progressive delivery strategies.
• The Security Advocate: Familiar with OWASP Top 10, secrets management (Azure Key Vault/Hashi Corp), and vulnerability remediation workflows.
• The Coach: A passion for mentorship, pairing, and creating "golden path" documentation that allows teams to move fast safely.

This role is unique: it sits at the intersection of three critical domains, allowing you to build holistic team capabilities rather than siloed expertise. Based in Chicago with a global team and culture, you’ll report to the Director of Cloud Platforms in a Tech Ops organization that values "makers and disruptors". You will see the direct impact of your coaching as lead times drop and deployment frequencies rise across the global organization.
