Overview
Behavioral Health Counselor - Adolescent Population at Rosecrance Behavioral Health. Join our team to deliver evidence-based behavioral health services to adolescents and their families in a compassionate, ethical, and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities- Work hours prescribed by leadership and additional hours as necessary for responsibilities.
- Conduct individual, group, and family counseling for clients and/or family members.
- Complete client psychosocial assessments and individualized treatment plans within required time frames.
- Identify client clinical and case management needs and address them.
- Educate clients and support members about treatment, health issues, and steps to recovery.
- Undertake primary case management for designated clients.
- Maintain documentation in the client service record consistent with SUPR, TJC, and Medicaid regulations.
- Maintain communication with admissions, case management, and discharge planning staff.
- On-call responsibilities as scheduled or designated.
- Present workshops, lectures, and training to clients, families, staff, and community groups.
- Be familiar with court proceedings and be available to attend court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
- Participate in team meetings and activities; uphold confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Deliver excellent customer service and serve as a positive role model for staff and clients.
- Assume other related responsibilities as delegated by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or related field;
Master’s preferred or equivalent experience. - Illinois CADC or licensed in Illinois as LSW or LPC (supersedes CADC within 2 years for substance use disorder services).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to establish rapport quickly and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Computer proficiency and ability to document in electronic health records within required time frames.
- Experience in individual, family, and group counseling; ability to present lectures to clients, parents, staff, or community resources.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
- Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance.
- 8-hour shifts; 9:00 am–5:30 pm with 1 late shift per week.
- Sunday–Thursday schedule.
- Starting Pay:
Base Pay (Bachelor’s level) $24.44/hour;
Master’s level $27.77/hour. - Professional Certification (CADC, CRSS, CPS) $1,500 annually.
- Clinical Licensure (LPC/LSW/LMSW, LCPC/LCSW/LMHC) $1,800–$5,000 annually.
- Shift differentials for specified hours and residential/inpatient differential where applicable.
