Therapist Role Description - Marshmallow's Hope
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Mission: Marshmallow's Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mitigating youth suicide by providing pro bono psychotherapy treatment to individuals aged 9 to 26. We also offer grief counseling for those affected by the loss of suicide.
Responsibilities- Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions with clients within the specified age range, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Provide grief counseling services to individuals and families impacted by suicide loss, fostering healing and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each client's needs and goals.
- Participate in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient counseling continuum of care, offering consistent support and guidance to clients.
- Group therapy sessions for at-risk youth and suicide survivors
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Attend regular team meetings and clinical supervision sessions to enhance professional development and ensure quality care delivery.
- Adhere to Marshmallow's Hope's operating hours, including Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 8 pm and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
- Typical on-site Clinician hours are 11am-8pm
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Licensed or certified therapist (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC) with experience in providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults.
- Specialized training or experience in grief counseling, particularly in the context of suicide bereavement.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and cultural competence to effectively engage with diverse clients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment.
