Project Engineer - High Voltage

Job Location s: US-IL-ROCKFORD | US-IN-INDIANAPOLIS | US-IL-DECATUR | US-WI-WISCONSIN DE SULLS

Overview

William Charles Electric, a Mas Tec Company, is hiring a Project Engineer to work with the project team to support all documentation and QA/QC activities required under the contract across multiple projects. The position also collaborates with site superintendents to optimize labor, equipment, and subcontractor utilization.

Location & Travel: You may be based in any U.S. city or state. This role requires up to 75% travel—including 3 weeks or 15 days per month on automobile (driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles, and public transportation. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to lodge in public facilities.

A designated per diem is offered to cover living expenses during the travel rotation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare scheduling of subcontractors on site
  • Receive and check the quality of materials
  • Complete QA/QC checklists
  • Manage submittals for material approvals
  • Respond to RFIs (general questions)
  • Prepare official project documents, route, and finalize them
  • Generate project reports as needed
  • Maintain backup documentation
  • Close out final quantities
  • Propose and negotiate extra work
  • Lead special projects within the Project Management function as necessary
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Management Department
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field);
    High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in Civil, Electrical, or Industrial Construction is required.
  • Strong analytical and detail‑oriented skills.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, Viewpoint, and Windows‑based applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be capable of up to 75% travel as described above.
