Title I Tutor – 2025/2026 School Year
Compensation: $40.00/hr (per hour rate).
Position:
Part‑time, hourly, certified tutor.
Purpose of the Position:
The Title I Tutor’s primary responsibility is to work individually or with groups of students within the grant guidelines, utilizing effective practices in teaching curricular objectives to meet the student needs and requirements of the specific grant.
- Ensure actions align with board policies, mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters in the board’s strategic plan.
- Carry out additional duties as required or as circumstances necessitate.
- Participate in job training and professional growth opportunities to enhance ability to perform essential functions.
- Perform related duties assigned to maintain an efficient and effective work environment.
- Implement activities for individuals and small groups of students in academic areas.
- Tutor individuals or groups using hands‑on, activity‑based learning and strategies tailored to differing student learning styles.
- Communicate regularly with building staff regarding plans and observations.
- Help monitor student achievement and instructional needs in reading, writing, and math by reviewing and utilizing school data.
- Participate in in‑service opportunities to stay current in best practices.
Illinois Teacher Certification.

- Ability to work with a diverse student population, including minority and/or low‑performing students.
Moderate in‑district travel and intermittent in‑state/out‑of‑state travel, with intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
Physical RequirementsRequires moderate to heavy physical efforts such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling objects up to 100 pounds, along with routine standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive motions as described.
