Service Technician – Rock Springs, WY

Kenworth Sales Company, a 37-location Kenworth and Isuzu truck dealership group, is hiring a Service Technician to join our Rock Springs, WY team. This role is subject to a pre-employment drug screen as part of our federally mandated DOT compliance.

The primary function of the Diesel Technician is to perform high-quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during servicing.

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman
• Performs work in order and in a timely and thorough manner, maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer
• Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman
• Maintains training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager
• Performs additional repairs if any equipment is returned due to the Technician’s faulty workmanship
• Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance
• Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results
• Personal motivation and self-reliance
• Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information
• Ability to lift parts up to 50 lbs
• Certifications are a plus

This is a physically demanding position. The employee will stand six to eight hours per shift and lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. The role may require bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and feeling. The employee may be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other materials. The employee may need to climb in and out of customer vehicles to record information and road drive.

A dealership uniform must be worn.
