Responsibilities and Duties

The Associate Dean of Health Science and Nursing serves as a senior academic and administrative leader. This position provides leadership and oversight for Health Science and Nursing programs, with primary responsibility for the direction, quality, accreditation, and regulatory compliance of the Nursing Program, serving as the Nursing Program Director as required by state and accrediting bodies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Nursing Program Director)
  • Provides overall leadership and administrative oversight for the Nursing Program(s), including Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, and related health programs as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with all requirements of the Wyoming State Board of Nursing, accreditation agencies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Leads curriculum planning, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement in alignment with accreditation standards, workforce needs, and institutional priorities.
  • Oversees preparation, submission, and maintenance of all accreditation, regulatory, assessment, and reporting documentation related to nursing education.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and supports full‑time, part‑time, adjunct, and clinical nursing faculty in accordance with College policies and the Faculty Evaluation Plan.
  • Coordinates clinical education, work‑based learning, and employer‑embedded instructional experiences through partnerships with healthcare providers and community agencies.
  • Oversees nursing program budgets, equipment, facilities, and instructional resources.
  • Collaborates with outreach locations to ensure consistent quality and compliance in off‑campus nursing instruction.
  • Leads ongoing assessment of student learning, licensure outcomes, and program effectiveness.
  • School and Academic Leadership (Associate Dean Responsibilities)
  • Provides leadership and administrative oversight for the School of Health Science and Nursing in alignment with College mission, strategic goals, and academic priorities.
  • Works collaboratively with faculty, program coordinators, and college leadership to support shared governance, curriculum development, and program review.
  • Supports faculty recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and other academic leaders on scheduling, staffing, resource allocation, and academic planning.
  • Represents the School on college‑wide committees, accreditation activities, and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Promotes innovation in teaching and learning, including the integration of technology, simulation, active learning, and inclusive instructional practices.
  • Leads, supervises, and evaluates assigned faculty and staff.
  • Workforce, Industry, and Community Engagement
  • Collaborates with healthcare systems, business and industry partners, advisory committees, and community organizations to ensure programs align with current and emerging workforce needs.
  • Supports the development of work‑based learning, clinical placements, and employer‑driven instructional opportunities.
