Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse | Rock Island, IL (Quad Cities)

Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse opportunity in Rock Island, IL. 13-week travel contract at a Level 1 trauma center on 12-hour nights (6:30 PM–6:30 AM) using EPIC. Ideal for experienced Med/Surg RNs and travel nurses seeking Illinois nursing jobs in the Quad Cities area.

• Unit / Setting: Surgical / Orthopedic Med/Surg Unit (6S - RI)
• Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• End Date: July 20, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) — Night Shift RN / Med Surg RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-site: Yes (local travel nursing position)
• EMR: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,090–$2,200

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg, Post-Op, or Stepdown nursing experience (Med Surg RN experience preferred)
• Comfortable managing a patient assignment of 5–7 patients per shift
• Surgical or post-operative surgical experience required (Surgical/Orthopedic experience a plus)
• Active RN license in Illinois or Iowa (compact license accepted if applicable)
• BLS (AHA) required
• At least one completed travel contract preferred (travel nursing experience preferred)
• Not employed by UnityPoint in the last 12 months
• Taxable address outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Required application documents: current resume, driver’s license, skills checklist (within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference

• Deliver patient-centered, high-quality medical-surgical and post-operative nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Manage and prioritize care for 5–7 patients per shift (Med Surg RN patient load)
• Perform assessments, monitoring, medication administration, documentation, and post-op nursing interventions
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses when needed
• Use EPIC EMR for accurate, timely charting and interdisciplinary communication
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical excellence and compliance with facility standards

• Work at a Level 1 trauma center serving a diverse patient population in the Quad Cities
