Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a day shift position requiring proficiency in Da Vinci and valid IL and IA RN licenses.

• Position is in a hospital Operating Room (OR) setting
• Works four 10-hour day shifts per week, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Required to work every fourth weekend
• On-call required: one shift per week from end of shift to 6:30 AM, and one shift per week from end of shift to 7:00 PM
• May be required to float within the OR discipline across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR system; experience preferred
• Involvement in comprehensive patient care as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team
• Required to work two out of three major winter holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• Only one request off day allowed between 11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2 regardless of holidays worked
• Returning employees may be ineligible within one year of prior employment
• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Iowa RN license also required; if not active, proof of application for IA single-state or compact RN license needed
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 2 years of previous OR experience required
• Must be proficient in Da Vinci surgical system
• Must be comfortable with all surgical case types except open heart
• Completion of at least 1 previous travel contract required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
