The Senior Maintenance Technician helps keep the facilities clean and in working order and is responsible for repairing/improving and performing regular maintenance on fixtures and equipment. This position is necessary to ensure that the primary production lines' operational processes meet and or exceed requirements for safety, quality, reliability, cost, capability, and capacity. This position is on site at our Agrisolutions facility in Rock Island, IL.
Essential Functions:
- Follows Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders and completes them timely.
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs physical assets and infrastructure for ongoing use.
- Records activities, supplies, and necessary components.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to evaluate needs and project plans.
- Trains on and maintains robotic programming and robot operational PM on assembly lines.
- Assists with new equipment installations for lines.
- Assists with set ups on robotic welding systems.
- Keeps work area, machines, and equipment clean using 5S organizational techniques.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Treats everyone fairly and with respect.
- Collaborates with the maintenance team to implement Lean methods, focusing on eliminating waste.
- Follows standardized work procedures to maximize productivity and reduce errors.
- Attends training classes as required.
- Works a flexible schedule that may require working different shifts based on the company's needs.
- Works with internal departments as needed.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a maintenance/technician position in a manufacturing environment is required.
- High level of either mechanical or electrical troubleshooting skills is required.
- Knowledge of heat treatment procedures, machine shop operations and processes, welding, paint, and tool and die practices is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of 5S organizational techniques is preferred.
- Basic understanding of Lean-OEE principles is preferred.
- Ability to weld/fabricate is preferred.
- Knowledge of process related standards.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instruction.
- Works in a factory environment, and can be exposed to dirt, grit, noise, and dust. Protective clothing and safety equipment are required while working in the facility. This environment is typically lit with fluorescent or LED lights.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
- Sits, stands, walks, and moves around the warehouse 8 or more hours per day on concrete floors.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with equipment. Must be able to safely lift 20-50 pounds.
- Regularly bends, stoops, and squats to pick up products or place them on lower shelves.
- Reaches above head height and below knee level to retrieve or store items in high or low locations.
- Pushes and pulls carts, pallets, etc. through the warehouse to transport goods to designated areas.
- Performs tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as using handheld devices, using handheld tools, etc.
- Operates warehouse equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, etc.
