Position: Physical Therapist (Short-Term)

Overview

Medcor is currently looking for a short-term Physical Therapist on a full-time basis for 12 weeks in our employer-based clinic in Moline, IL
. The work environment is in an industrial setting focusing on occupational health. The clinic operates Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm.

Compensation for this position is $46.00–$56.00/hour.

Eligible retention bonus upon completion of assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Meets the patient’s goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Helps patients accomplish treatment plans by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and using assistive devices.
  • Administers physical therapy treatments by using massage, therapeutic modalities, and directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
  • Evaluates effects of therapies and fit of devices by observing progress and recommending adjustments.
  • Completes discharge planning by collaborating with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
  • Designs home exercise programs and instructs patients, families, and caregivers for continuation after discharge; recommends follow-up programs as needed.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and protects clinic operations by following privacy and security procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs.
  • Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
  • You Must
  • Be a Certified Physical Therapist
  • Have a positive and outgoing personality
  • Be willing to go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have strong computer and technology skills (navigate cell phones, texting, fax machines, etc.)
  • Be comfortable working in a work-site clinic environment
  • Nice to Have
  • You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience
