POSITION SUMMARY
POSITION SUMMARY: The EHS Managerisresponsible forensuringthat employees follow health and safety regulations and supervisesoperations to promote the wellbeing of the team.
Duties include using safety research to create policies thateliminateworkplace hazards, documenting accidents in theworkplaceand investigating the circumstances of an illness or injury.
- Monitor the removal of biological,physical,or chemical hazards from a workplace.
- Provide safety training for employees on policies,regulations,and procedures.
- Advise the company’s administrative team on safety issues and complianceinspecific projects and operations.
- Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
- Maintainaccurateand current recordsin accordance withguidelines.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studiesin order toinstitute changes thatlead to a safer environment.
- Develop new policies related to safety, health, and environmentalconcerns to includeimplementingnew equipment, creating training programs, or adopting strategies to improve productivity whilemaintainingcompliance with safety standards.
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
- Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process forsafety.
- Check if all the employees are acting in adherencewithrules and regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations anddeterminecauses.
- Oversee workplace repair,installation sand any other work that could harm employees' safety.
- Conduct safety investigations and ensure corrective actions.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Certified in risk management and health/safety management.
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
- Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures.
- Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment
- Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement.
- Ability to prioritizetasksespecially when handling an accident orincident.
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or a related field
OR 3-5 years’ experience as a safety manager or similar role. - In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead andteacha team.
- Great attention to detail.
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
$80,000 - $85,000 USD
