5-Axis Composites CNC Machining Specialist

Overview

Your day shaping advanced composites. Walk into our Rock Hill, SC facility and you’ll jump right into hands-on work with carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other advanced materials. You’ll build and dial in fixtures, set up complex jobs on 3- and 5-axis vertical and horizontal mills, and translate travelers, blueprints, and sketches into precision parts for aerospace, defense, and other high-performance applications.

Throughout the day, you’ll verify critical features with calipers, micrometers, and indicators to ensure every component meets spec.

• Own CNC operations, including set-ups for complex 3- and 5-axis vertical and horizontal milling.
• Run equipment in accordance with internal processes and all required documentation (drawings, specifications, and related travelers).
• Interpret travelers/blueprints/sketches to manufacture products that meet stringent quality requirements.
• Inspect and verify work against specifications, adjusting processes as needed.
• Collaborate within a team environment to rethink approaches, improve methods, and solve unique machining challenges—there’s no one-size-fits-all here.

• Skilled Trade/Technical Certification (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in CNC manufacturing.
• Fluency in reading blueprints and technical documents.
• Comfort making thoughtful modifications to improve parts, processes, and outcomes.
• Ability to multi-task and operate effectively in a complex environment.
• Proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.).
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand basic English.
• Solid math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Sound judgment to follow instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.
