The CNC Route Controller is responsible for operating and managing CNC routing equipment to support the production of high-quality signage. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent organizational habits, and the ability to interpret detailed shop drawings with precise tolerances.
Key Responsibilities- Program, set up, and operate CNC routers using EnRoute and VCarve software.
- Review and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and production packets to ensure accurate routing paths.
- Verify material dimensions, tool selection, and cutting strategies before running jobs.
- Maintain precise tolerances and quality standards for ADA signage, dimensional letters, cabinets, panels, and specialty components.
- Organize workflow to ensure jobs are processed in the correct sequence and meet production deadlines.
- Perform machine maintenance, bit/tool changes, calibration, and daily safety checks.
- Communicate with Design, Production, and Project Management to clarify drawing details, material specs, and routing requirements.
- Track materials used, scrap generated, and any issues during setup or routing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- 1–3 years CNC routing experience preferred; sign manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in EnRoute and/or VCarve software.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and engineered files.
- Strong understanding of tolerances, material behavior, and router tooling.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and follow all safety procedures.
