Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The Regional Practice Leader (RPL) for North and South Carolina’s Construction Management division is a leadership position combining technical expertise with strategic vision and business management to drive the next level of growth and success of multiple practices within the KCI regional practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibility is to grow the practice; maximizing market share (30% weighting) and developing of new clients/services (70% weighting).
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key regional clients (NCDOT and SCDOT) while staying well versed in their policies and procedures.
  • Lead the regional practice’s business development effort by providing input to discipline sales goals, developing a marketing/education plan for each practice, obtaining market intelligence through client relationships and leading marketing/proposal efforts.
  • Identify new clients and marketing opportunities and work with the Corporate and Practice Leaders to win the work.
  • Supervise staff through the development and leadership of the practice leaders.
  • Build a high-performance team through personal/professional leadership, coaching/mentoring of staff and the identification/attraction of top outside talent.
  • Coordinates resource allocation within regions, practices and with other regions.
  • Serves as principal-in-charge or senior project manager for large/significant projects/pursuits.
  • Minimum of 15 years of technical professional experience. Minimum of 12 years of client/portfolio management. Minimum of 15 years of technical staff supervision.
  • Professional license/certification in area of expertise required.
  • Must possess exceptional leadership, written and verbal communication, relationship, and business development skills. Must develop, activate and affect the vision for the regional practice and discipline.
Leadership And Strategic Planning
  • Lead all similar technical practices within the designated regional market and/or geography.
  • Provide support to Practice Leaders to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with other regional practices to utilize shared expertise and implement best practices.
