Executive Director – Palliative Services
We are seeking a qualified Executive Director for our Palliative department in Rock Hill, SC. The candidate should be compassionate, exhibit excellent management skills, and assist our palliative/hospice patients in the area.
Position Overview
This in‑person, full‑time (8‑hour hybrid) position (8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday) offers a salary of $150,000–$180,000 per year with the opportunity for a monthly bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies for palliative and hospice services aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and expansion.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Represent the organization as a thought leader externally.
- Operational Management
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
- Manage fiscal operations, including budget development and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Joint Commission).
- Develop policies and procedures to promote patient safety and quality of care.
- Optimize resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and technology.
- Quality & Compliance
- Establish a robust quality improvement program and monitor key performance indicators.
- Ensure adherence to clinical practice guidelines and ethical standards.
- Lead accreditation and regulatory survey preparation.
- Promote continuous learning and evidence‑based practice.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain a highly skilled, compassionate team.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and referral sources.
- Engage in community outreach and education initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Patient & Family Experience
- Champion a patient‑centered approach, ensuring patients and families are central to decision‑making.
- Monitor satisfaction and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Qualifications
- Education
:
Master’s degree in nursing strongly preferred; extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree. - Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in hospice or palliative care, with at least 3 years in senior management.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, program development, financial management, and quality improvement.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations governing hospice and palliative care.
- Skills & Abilities
- Current RN license with strong clinical decision‑making.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care.
- Proficiency with relevant healthcare software and technology.
