Behavioral Health Tech

Overview

Behavioral Health Technician PRN Days at Piedmont Medical Center. Provides patient care under the direction of the Nurse, supports activities of daily living, operation and maintenance of equipment, and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. May float to other comparable nursing units as requested/needed. Functions as an active member of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Team under the direction and supervision of the RN.

• Provide patient care to meet activities of daily living needs and assist licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards.
• Take and record vital signs and input/output, and monitor equipment as assigned.
• Assist in the care of patients across the age range served (infant to geriatric) as indicated.
• Collaborate with the health care team to deliver quality care in accordance with established practice standards and guidelines for the assigned area(s).
• Float to other comparable nursing units as needed and work as a constructive member of the multidisciplinary team under RN supervision.

• Education/Other Qualifications
• Minimum Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum Experience:
  
  Relevant patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred. Good therapeutic communication skills required.
• Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
  American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required (must be obtained within 7 days of hire). CPI certification required within orientation period.
