Position: Allergy Technician- Ft. Mill

This position is open for full‑time applicants actively engaged in delivering comprehensive allergy testing and treatment services.

Primary Objective

The Allergy Technician serves as the primary clinical support to allergy patients through the delivery of high quality, safe, effective, and compassionate allergy testing, immunotherapy, and treatment services.

Description

Essential Functions include patient interaction, allergy testing, immunotherapy preparation, administrative support, and emergency response.

Essential Functions
  • Greet and room patients
  • Prepare and administer allergy tests and subcutaneous injections
  • Monitor patient reactions and adjust dosing as needed
  • Mix and prepare doses for subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy
  • Document allergy encounters, charges, and appointments in the EHR system
  • Perform blood draws for labs and RAST testing
  • Recognize and respond to anaphylactic symptoms and provide emergency care
  • Communicate financial information and explain testing procedures to patients and families
  • Maintain logs of emergency medication expiration dates and sample inventory
  • Read and administer tuberculin skin tests for CEENTA employees as required
  • Train new employees and act as a resource for team members
  • Maintain EHR work queues, index lab reports and documents, and uphold OSHA and safety standards
  • Support clinical providers and coordinate with ENT Clinical Services, Operations Managers, and Supervisors
  • Meet physical and mental demands, maintain attendance, and be onsite as required

Training Period
  • Corporate Epic training
  • 6 weeks to 3 months on‑the‑job training with Allergy team
  • Check‑ins and audits following completion of training

Qualifications Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or one of the approved routes outlined by AAMT is preferred.

Experience
  • Three or more years of relevant clinical allergy experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
  • LPN, RN, Pharmacy Tech, Certified Phlebotomist, or Associates/Bachelor’s Science in lieu of CMA/RMA accepted in lieu of certification.
  • Five years of recent allergy experience accepted in lieu of certifications or licenses listed above.
  • Current BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross required.
Work Environment

The Allergy Technician works in a multi‑specialty clinic with high patient volume. Exposure to contagious or infectious diseases may require personal protective equipment. Standard medical office equipment and diagnostic equipment are used routinely.

Supervision

This position reports to the Operations Supervisor, Allergy, with clinical oversight from ENT Providers and administrative direction from Operations Managers.
