Position Summary:
This role provides mammography examinations for patients from young adult to geriatric. Technologists assess patient condition, operate imaging equipment, including Fuji CR, prepare examination rooms, and maintain equipment, supplies, and medications. They maintain patient records and participate in the department’s Performance Improvement program. Proficiency in PACS. The technologist maintains the department’s mammography program for ACR/MQSA accreditation. They also serve as instructors for Radiologic Technology students.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent.
- Up to one year experience required; 1‑2 years preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Registered with ARRT in Mammography, or registration complete within one year of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required; must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
- SCRQSA required.
Required Competencies
- Proficiency in PACS.
- Ability to perform mammography examinations for patients aged 18‑89.
- Maintain patient records and support department performance improvement.
