Position Summary
The Automation Controls Technician Internis primarily responsible with supporting the tooling, controls, and automation teams as a shared resource within the Rock Hill facility.
This exciting 2026 summer internship will support our Precision Components unit with opportunity for contribution and input. You will have the opportunity to network and build relationships within the Medical Device industry while making a difference in a fast pace nimble work environment by partnering and collaborating with a variety of teams and projects. As our Automation Controls Technician Intern, you will have a real impact on our business and customers - working with cross functional teams to get a true understanding of a day in the life of this role.
- Assist in preparation and maintaining project plans to satisfy milestones, deadlines, budgets, with required actions.
- Provide input to project manager for tracking and communicating project status, plans, issues, timelines, action items, and budgets.
- Involvement in the full design, development, and validation requirements of automation, including:
- Machine design and specification creation, including mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and packaging.
- Materials and component sourcing.
- Design verification and validation activities, including data.
- Manufacturing transfer and support of existing product lines as applicable.
- 2 years minimum completed towards an engineering degree.
- Must have experience working with PLCs (such as Allen Bradley, Keyence, Omron, Siemens, Automation Direct, etc.).
- Experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment with mechanical, tool design, and manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
- Must be able to fully interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications & illustrations.
- Ability to be an effective and impactful team member and display initiative.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Strong computer skills, including the MS Office Suite (MS Project experience preferred).
- Above average oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting to meet deadlines and expectations.
- Ability to commute on-site daily and participate in full internship program.
$20.00/hour
