Primary Care Physician Scope – Quals Catawba Service Unit
Physician shall act as the attending Physician providing and managing patient care at the Catawba Service Unit. The clinic operates in Rock Hill, SC. Services include urgent, preventative, chronic, and progressive care to pediatric, geriatric, adolescent and adult patients. The physician will treat the full range of family practice cases and perform most diagnostic and treatment procedures without further direction. The physician will instruct patients on specific treatments as well as preventative care, observe and abide by medical staff bylaws, service unit policies and procedures, and all applicable federal and state rules and regulations.
The physician will clinically supervise two Physician Assistants and oversee the laboratory. A South Carolina Medical License is required. The physician must be or become CLIA certified within one month of starting employment. The physician will work four 8‑hour days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Clinic sessions are during normal clinic working hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, unless approved in advance by the CEO and COR.
The physician shall attend and complete all mandatory classes and trainings as requested by the CEO or alternate.
The Catawba Service Unit will not compensate the physician for services provided outside the scope of services without prior authorization and written change orders or addenda. The physician shall work at 2893 Sturgis Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or other mutually agreed locations. The physician agrees to maintain accurate medical records as required by law or the Service Unit, and to handle all notifications in a timely manner per Service Unit policies.
Insurance:
The physician shall maintain malpractice insurance at his or her own expense and keep a current certificate of coverage on file with the Service Unit. The physician irrevocably waives all claims against the Service Unit for losses, damages, claims or expenses resulting from commercially insurable risks under this insurance.
In performing services under this contract, the physician shall operate as an independent contractor and not as an agent or employee. The physician shall not hold herself or himself out as, nor claim to be, an officer or employee of the Service Unit, and shall not seek any workers’ compensation, health coverage, unemployment benefits, Social Security coverage or employee retirement membership or credit on behalf of the Service Unit.
Clinical supervision will be provided by the Catawba Service Unit Clinical Director, Administrative.
