ResponsibilitiesThe Material Handler Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the daily operations of the material handling and equipment operator staff for one assigned job site. The Material Supervisor serves as a subject matter expert in the core functions of material management and equipment operations.
Responsibilities and Duties- Supervising the daily operations for assigned job site(s).
- Serving as a subject matter expert regarding materials, tools, and rental equipment.
- Receiving, recording, and tracking inventory.
- Monitoring onsite distribution and delivery.
- Following up on requests from superintendents and foremen.
- Liaising with Assets Service Center to determine logistical information pertaining to time frame for delivery, size and scope of material request, and detailed parameters per each request.
- Determining the appropriate mode of transportation for inventory to be delivered.
- Analyzing reporting metrics and budget information.
- Preparing detailed reports for project meetings and presenting detailed information and reports at project meetings.
- Enforcing best practices for employee performance and policy adherence.
- Monitoring and recording employee performance, providing inputs to performance evaluations, and submitting these for completion by the Logistics Manager.
- Assisting secondary projects as applicable.
- Mentoring employees in performance and responsibilities to ensure they are prepared for new responsibilities as business demands increase.
- Understanding project logistics plans, including traffic delivery routes, site logistics schedules, and project stages both current and forthcoming.
- Understanding blueprints and project diagrams with regards to logistics strategies and planning.
- Ability to create, plan and execute a logistics strategy plan.
Education:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience with a High School Diploma/GED or
- 2+ years with an Associate’s Degree
Experience:
- Proficiency with electrical design build materials and equipment, inventory management, warehouse and logistics service center processes and procedures.
- Experience and proficiency with advanced-level MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Physical ability to perform material handling responsibilities utilizing appropriate hand tools and lifting items up to 75 pounds.
- Strong command of the English language with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent reporting and tracking skills, with a consistent record of accuracy, productivity, professionalism, and safety policy compliance.
- Experience in managing a team and resolving workplace conflicts.
- High level of interpersonal skills to interface with different stakeholders.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CMV if required.
