Overview

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre‑professional programs; and master’s and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health.

Job Responsibilities
  • Transport sports teams and students to off‑campus events and practices from mid‑August through end‑May; hours per week will vary during playing seasons.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule; hours and days will vary depending on athletic schedules; nights and weekends are required.
  • Ability to work with Google Documents, check and respond to e‑mail and phone calls; training on Google Docs will be provided.
  • Must keep a written log of activity.
Education / Experience
  • High School graduate
  • Clean driving record
  • Must know basic vehicle and traffic laws
Class B CDL Driver Requirements
  • Clean Class B License with air brakes, Passenger and School bus endorsements.
  • Familiar with DOT rules and requirements; ability to read basic instructions, road signs and maps, and keep a written log of activity.
  • Strong customer service abilities with emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills.
  • Positive attitude with a professional appearance.
  • Will inness to learn and be coached as needed.

Transporting student athletes and staff to and from St John Fisher University to competition and practice or event venues

Bus:
Embassy 395 Freightliner M‑2 bus 8.5 feet wide, 39.5 feet long and 11.5 high. Full cab – driver and co‑pilot. Max 36 passengers with back storage area (outside access).

Equipment to be Used

GPS unit to determine best route to destination provided on itinerary.

Work Hours

Part‑time; mid‑August through end‑May; hours per week will vary during playing seasons based on driver availability and travel needs. Additional hours in the summer as needed. Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule; hours and days will vary depending on athletic schedules; nights and weekends are required.

Special Conditions for Eligibility

Class B CDL Driver Requirements:
Clean Class B License with air brakes, Passenger & School bus endorsements.

Salary / Hourly Range

$20.00 per hour
