Truck Driver – WM (formerly Waste Management) Job Summary

Safely operate a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements and company expectations.
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the standard DVIR.
• Immediately report unsafe situations, service calls, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings.
• Work with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problems.
• Assist other company drivers as directed.
• Notify management of any issues per protocol (blocked containers, missed pickups, etc.).
• Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean.
• Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage is needed.
• Position containers properly and ensure they do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation.

  No prior work experience required.
• Commercial Driver’s License Class B (CDL) required; applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, background check, and motor vehicle record review.
• Acceptable driving record.

$23.68–$28.00 per hour (base pay). Final salary may vary based on experience, education, training, certifications, and location.
