Position Summary >

Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants for the Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) position. This role involves vehicle delivery and return to Penske locations and customers, primarily moving box trucks up to 26’, and for CDL Class A drivers, tractors and trailers. The position may also support the service department by delivering parts and equipment.

This is a casual/on-call part‑time truck driving job suitable for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income. Work hours range from 0 to 25 per week based on business needs.

Location:

333 Colfax Street, Rochester, NY.

• Follow safety procedures while driving to Penske or customer locations.
• Check vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment; report issues to the location manager.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned.

• 2+ years driving experience.
• Clean DMV motor vehicle record for at least 2 years.
• Valid Class B CDL (domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence).
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Independent work, customer service, organizational skills, and a positive attitude required.
• English language proficiency (federal law).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance essential.
• Compliance with DOT regulations, maintaining current driver qualification file, including MVR check, DOT physical, safety performance history, and drug screening.
• Willingness to travel, work required schedule, and complete background and drug screening.

• Ability to see and hear; required vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.
• Must move frequently, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to touch, handle, and reach.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
• Must legally operate a motor vehicle and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.

$19 – $19.50 per hour.
