Group Exercise Coordinator

Rate of Pay: $18 to 20 per hour and a Free YMCA Membership

10 hrs per week

Under the general direction of the Health and Wellness Director, the Group Exercise Coordinator is responsible for the administration, promotion and direction of all Group Exercise Programs. The Coordinator will provide members with the continuity and stability that will help in member retention and involvement. Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times.

The position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

• Recruit, train, and evaluate all staff relative to responsibilities. In conjunction with Center Director conduct all appropriate staff trainings and meetings.
• To insure that all program procedures are consistent with association policies and the YMCA mission.
• In conjunction with the Center Director, develop new programming, public relation opportunities, and special events for the Group Exercise Program.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations and classes, ensuring proper coverage at the branch.
• Ensure the quality of instruction to all Group Exercise programs through evaluations, observations and participation in classes.
• Supervise participants to ensure safety. Advise all participants of safety issues as needed. Report repeated violations to supervisor.
