Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Experienced Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities Team to work full time based in Medway. The salary for this permanent Experienced Social Worker job is up to £51,306 per annum.

• Manage a caseload within a framework of appropriate reflective supervision, undertaking focused, analytical assessments, SMART plans and reviews that have clear objectives and outcome measures to ensure that all vulnerable children and young adults with disabilities receive a service reflecting the Council’s commitment to child and adult safeguarding and meaningful transition into young adulthood.
• Demonstrate and model good practice that reflects a commitment to relationship- and strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with disabled children, young people and their families.
• Work directly with disabled children and young people to establish their lived experiences, wishes and feelings, using a variety of techniques as required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with Data Protection legislation (GDPR) and use Medway Council-specific recording systems to promote effective case management.
• Prepare clear, structured and concise reports for meetings (e.g., Child Protection Conferences, strategy meetings, Looked After Children Reviews, Children in Need meetings, and court proceedings as necessary) to the required standard and within prescribed timescales.
• Keep up to date with research findings, theoretical models and innovative practice within the social work field to maintain high professional standards.
• Participate in regular reflective supervision with your manager to review casework and identify learning opportunities.
• Provide duty cover on a rota basis to support the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub as issues arise.
• Participate in one-on-one Performance Development Reviews and contribute to identifying own and team development needs.
• Carry out any other activities as may be agreed by the Head of Service consistent with the nature of the job.

• Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
• Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
• Experience of community and/or group work.
• Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
