Experienced Social Worker – Children & Young People Disability Team
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Experienced Social Worker within the Children & Young People Disability Team to work Full Time based in Medway.
The salary for this permanent Experienced Social Worker job is up to £45,829 per annum.
Responsibilities- Provide a high-quality and effective professional casework service, managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision, dependent upon the complexities of the cases and the Social Worker’s experience.
- Manage a caseload within a framework of reflective supervision, undertake focused, analytical assessments, SMART plans and reviews with clear objectives and outcome measures to ensure that all vulnerable children and young adults with disabilities receive a service reflecting safeguarding commitments and meaningful transition into young adulthood.
- Demonstrate and model good practice that reflects a commitment to relationship- and strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with disabled children, young people and their families.
- Work directly with disabled children and young people to establish their lived experiences, wishes and feelings using a variety of techniques as required.
- Consistently use the Signs of Safety practice model in assessments and interventions with children and their families.
- Prepare clear, structured and concise reports for meetings, such as Child Protection Conferences, strategy meetings, Looked After Children Reviews, Children in Need meetings, and court proceedings as necessary, to the required standard and within prescribed timescales.
- Keep up to date with research findings, theoretical models and innovative practice within the Social Work field to maintain high professional standards.
- Participate in regular reflective supervision with the manager to review casework and identify learning opportunities.
- Keep up to date with the Council’s policies, government guidance, legislation, research and national trends to maintain high professional standards.
- Undertake other activities as may be agreed by the Head of Service consistent with the nature of the job described above.
- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
