Under immediate supervision of the Employment Services Manager, the Intake Assessment Coordinator manages all aspects of the client intake process, including determination of program eligibility, scheduling appointments, collecting client information, and establishing positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Determine eligibility for refugee employment services.
- Keep accurate records of assessment/eligibility forms.
- Conduct client intake appointments and receive referrals.
- Schedule appointments, interpreters, and make reminder calls.
- Conduct thorough intakes, copy documents, and complete intake forms.
- Coordinate ESL referrals and track attendance.
- Facilitate Monroe County Department of Human Services employment assessments.
- Enter client data into required database systems.
- Document intake appointments and track client job activities.
- Review case files, identify missing documents, and report trends.
- Supply reports and provide pertinent information to the employment team.
- Attend mandatory agency meetings and supervision.
- Work with the business community to identify, develop, and fill job opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of local business climate and job markets.
- Conduct employment preparation (E‑PREP) and job‑readiness training workshops.
- Assist in resume writing, application processes, and schedule employer appointments.
- Provide individual job coaching and support employer/participant relationships.
- Promote employment retention.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Sociology, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor’s degree a plus).
- 1‑year prior experience working with refugees, displaced workers, or in intake.
- Bilingual Spanish, Nepali, Burmese, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, Somali or other languages a plus.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and complete tasks with minimal direction.
- Efficiently manage deadlines under pressure.
- Develop self‑awareness and stress‑management techniques.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow regulatory training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate behaviors and attitudes in support of agency mission.
- Bi‑lingual preferred but not required.
- Foster agency and program collaboration with trauma‑informed communication techniques.
- Reliable transportation to office and work events.
Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, typing, and light lifting. Requires close and distance vision. Noise level is usually quiet.
