Nichols Electric & Plumbing is expanding our residential HVAC division and is seeking an experienced, customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Rochester, NY. In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing residential HVAC systems while delivering a top-tier customer experience. • Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps
• Perform seasonal maintenance inspections and tune-ups
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, and airflow issues
• Install and service thermostats and HVAC control systems
• Provide clear, honest communication with homeowners about system conditions and repair needs
• Use company software to complete accurate job documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked company vehicle
• Work closely with dispatchers, CSR team, and leadership to ensure seamless service delivery
• Represent the company professionally with every customer interaction

• Minimum 2 years of residential HVAC service experience (preferred)
• EPA Certification (required)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with gas/electric furnaces, A/C systems, heat pumps, and thermostat systems
• Knowledge of electrical systems, refrigerants, and HVAC airflow principles
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality workmanship
